We live, work and play here in Southwest Virginia. All of our content is of, by and for folks just like us. We believe in this region and believe that the people who live here deserve a paper that is locally owned, locally invested and understands the very real and important work the media can do.
We believe that the No. 1 job of any newspaper is to give readers the information to better live their lives. Things like who was arrested, what decision the town council has made or when is the new business on Main Street opens.
We believe that local, local, local will define the next generation. We’re staking a bet that the era of huge conglomerates, multi-national corporations and a bigger-is-better mentality is over. We’re betting that what matters now is what has always mattered, really – and that’s what you can see from your front door. We believe in and support local food, local shopping and local news.
